Were there any friendly fire incidents involving American submarines, aircraft carriers, or battleships during World War II or World War I?

Oh yeah. These kinds of incidents are quite common even in modern war, let alone back then.

USS Tang pictured above, was an ace US submarine… until she literally sank herself with a circular running torpedo.

USS Pompano was mistakenly bombed by aircraft from USS Enterprise but managed to escape.

My religion teacher said that there are no atheists because in order to reject God, you must first have a concept of God, and if you have a concept of God, you are not an atheist. In what way is this true, if at all? Why?
